Roof & Gutter Cleaning North Shore
Protect Your Home From Top To Bottom
-
A clean roof is essential for its longevity. Professional roof cleaning and treatment removes moss, lichen, and debris - which prematurely break down your roofs coating. Lux Clean treats your roof and removes all dirt which helps to safeguard your property from leaks, extend your roof’s lifespan, and prevents your home from costly repairs.
Whether your roof is tile, metal, or shingle, regular roof cleaning and treatments boosts the performance of your roof and increases curb appeal.
Gutters are the first line of defense in your home’s water management system. Blocked and overflowing spouting can cause leaks, rot, and even foundation damage.
We clear out your gutters and downpipes of all debris, sludge and moss and flush out your exterior spouting which helps it handle the next downpour and not put strain on your eaves and roofline.
Auckland-wide. We service homes and businesses across Auckland, but specifically North Shore, West Auckland, Rodney, North Auckland and the Hibiscus Coast.
Need more than a clean? We also offer roof and gutter repairs, replacement and gutter conversions. Check out Lux Roofing for our services in Auckland.

Will you be walking on my roof?
Whenever possible, we utilise a ground-based or ladder-access approach to apply our treatments. If roof access is necessary, our technicians are trained in weight-distribution techniques and use specialised safety equipment to ensure the structural integrity of your tiles or metal sheeting is never compromised. We treat your roof with the same care we would our own.
How long does it take to kill the moss and lichen?
Our Treatment works with the elements. Once the moss and lichen are neutralised, they will turn brown/grey and gradually detach from the surface. Nature then takes over:
Green Algae: Typically disappears within 2–4 weeks.
Moss & Lichen: Usually clears away within 3–9 months, depending on the level of growth and local rainfall.
This gradual process is the safest way to restore your roof, ensuring the root systems are destroyed without causing surface erosion or leaks.
How often should I have a roof Treatment?
We suggest getting a Roof Treatment every 12–18 months, depending on your environment and surrounding vegetation.
Do I need to be home while the service is performed?
Not at all. We understand your time is valuable. As long as we have access to a functioning water source and your property is accessible (gates unlocked, windows closed), our team can complete the project while you go about your day. We will provide confirmation once your roof is treated.
Is the cleaning process safe for my garden and pets?
Absolutely. We prioritise the safety of your home's ecosystem. Our technicians utilise a pre-and-post-rinse technique to protect your landscaping, and our biodegradable oxidizer is diluted to professional safety standards.
We simply ask that pets are kept inside for the duration of the service as a standard precaution.
What is the difference between a Roof Wash and a Roof Treatment?
A Roof Wash provides an immediate visual transformation by rinsing away surface dirt and loose debris. A Roof Treatment is designed to kill organic growth like moss, lichen, and algae at the root. Unlike high-pressure blasting, which can erode the surface of your tiles, our self-cleansing treatment works with the weather over time to break down growth and prevent it from returning.
I’m on tank water, is a roof treatment possible?
Yes, we safely clean roofs on tank water by temporarily disconnecting your supply and protecting water catchment areas.
